Some surprises in Round 1

Rugby WA's reigning premiers, Cottesloe, sprinted out to an impressive lead before scoring a hard-fought win over Wanneroo, 28-21, at Harvey Field today in the opening game of the 2010 competition, sponsored by Kwik Crane and Transport Hire.

The Seagulls were all polish in the first half for a one-sided 17-0 lead while Wanneroo looked like a team on their first training run. But the premiers lost momentum in the second spell as an aggressive Roo-dogs outfit took the game to them through their big boys up front and came close to snatching it in the dying stages.

Associates 10 v Kalamunda 22

After a hell of a ding dong battle that lasted until the end
Rockingham managed to beat Perth 24-21 
Bayswater second grade won 42-3 if I remember correctly
Bayswater U/18 beat Southern Lions 76-17 or something close to that

This must be the upset of the weekend Palmyra that was finals contenders loosing against 
Nedlands Palmyra 21 v Nedlands 40


A hard fought game with Uni looking the goods in the first half but losing the advantage in the second half. Wests looked like they had it in the bag but Uni scored a try in extra time and converted to win. Considering Uni are lacking in the prop front they held up very well. Not a shabby side by any means!!!!!! final score:
